The Grenade Launcher is a one-handed weapon in Just Cause 2.
For any other type of grenade launcher, see Grenade Launcher (disambiguation).
Appearance[]
This Grenade Launcher does not appear to be based on any particular real-life grenade launcher, but this weapon does include the revolver principle featured in many modern grenade launchers like the Milkor MGL. Unrealistically, the Grenade Launcher can be wielded with one or two hands.
Just Cause (1) also has a revolver-type grenade launcher, called the Mako Hammerhead, but that one is larger and two-handed.
This weapon is wielded the same way as a Submachine Gun by Panau Military personnel. Why they do this is unknown, because wielding it in such a fashion is not the most efficient way to fire a grenade launcher in reality.
Performance[]
This weapon is an explosive weapon. Whereas the more expensive Rocket Launcher does more damage and has much longer range, the grenade launcher has a couple of advantages over it, including a larger magazine size and ammunition capacity and the ability to be dual-wielded with another one-handed weapon. While the rocket launcher is best used for sabotage and against vehicles, the grenade launcher is more of an anti-personnel weapon and if fired into a crowd of militia it has the ability to take out multiple targets. It is also not required to get headshots to kill colonels with this weapon. However, because the grenades travel in an arc, the range is terrible. Note that the higher you aim, the further the grenade goes, thereby helping to balance the range issue. The launcher can be effective against Generators, Transformers, Guard Towers, Propaganda Trailers, Broadcast Towers, and other smallish government property, but against heavier targets it's best to use something with a bigger bang. When fully upgraded, it can also be used against Fuel Depots extremely well; only two grenades are required to blow the depot to pieces.

Spawn points[]
- At Bandar Gereja Gurun, inside the tower.
- At Pulau Berapi. They are located on the same latitude. Strangely they are floating in the air.
- X:15220; Y:17385.
- X:14355; Y:17385.
- Strangely, if you go over to one of these, it will show as seemingly having 250 grenades in a level 1 version, despite the most Rico can carry is 50 at level 6. It's not known why this is here. If Rico picks it up, it will only have 25 at level 1. As such, this is sort of deceiving.
- The Reapers provide one for Death from Above.
Users[]
