The Urga U17 Akrobat is a passenger plane in Just Cause 3.

Appearance

It's a small turboprop civilian passenger plane based on the Britten-Norman BN2A Islander and Harbin Y-12. It has an engine sound incredibly similar to its real life counterpart too giving the impression it's piston powered. The engine appearance supports this. It features rigid landing gear and wing struts similar to the de Havilland Canada Twin Otter, of which the in-game plane covers a similar role. As well as the two front doors for the aircraft's pilots, there are two loading doors at the very rear of the cabin. The aircraft seats 6, not including the two in the cockpit. These seats are unusable to the player. It's notable that this capacity is far smaller than its real life counterparts, although this can be attributed to the inclusion of an aisle between the seats, forcing a two-abreast cabin layout. At the rear of the aircraft is a large cargo space leading into the tail, similar to many other smaller aircraft in real life. This could suggest a mixed passenger and cargo role in Medici. This would make sense due to Medici's layout as an archipelago, making freight by land very inefficient and slow. Aircraft like this are very commonly used in island or tourist locations like Medici in real life. They usually serve a purpose of connecting small islands, sightseeing, skydiving or just general charters, as the Rebel drop description suggests.

At the front there are two visible pitot tubes (one on either side).

According to the Rebel drop info: "As Medici is an archipelago, chartered flights are common among those that can afford it. The Urga U17 Akrobat is the workhorse of the domestic flight circuit."

Performance

For a civilian vehicle it is fairly fast and agile, capable of going up to 305 km/h with nitrous. It has a very low stall speed, however one should be careful with takeoff distances, as it isn't quite as capable as a jet in terms of lifting off quickly.

If the name is anything to go by, then this plane should be good for stunts. Should being the key word. If the wing hits anything, the plane will spin out of control with little to no chance of getting it back. Attempts of ditching it will result in violent maneuvers acted out by the plane's buoyancy in a usually failed attempt of flying again. Scenario for loss of control could be caused by towing a heavy load, such as a vehicle, causing it to rapidly roll vertically with no chance of regaining control.

Despite this, it's quite easy to remain airborne due to the low stall speed, making the aircraft ideal for aerial observation, which would be ideal for sightseeing operations... or as a platform for blowing up Sabotage Destructible Objects.

If one lands hard enough, the landing gear may break off. Interestingly enough the aircraft is still capable of flight in this state. It's also possible to damage the aircraft in a way which will cause it to pull left or right, making it difficult to remain flying straight.

• An "akrobat" (spelled as acrobat in English) is a type of circus performer.
  • "Akrobat" is the Czech spelling.
• This vehicle is made by the fictional company Urga.
  • This is also the only civilian vehicle made by Urga.
• This is the only passenger plane in Just Cause 3.
• This was one of the first vehicles seen in early images of the game, and this is also the first vehicle you should see in the game.
• As a small passenger plane, it's the successor to the Stirling Jet Exclusive 9 from Just Cause and Cassius 192 from Just Cause 2.
  • The Cassius 192 from Just Cause 2 has a similar paint job.
• Just Cause 4 has an almost exactly identical plane, under the name Emsavion Cropduster. None of the vehicle names are reused despite several of them being pretty much copies of JC3 vehicles.
• Its wheels will break off if you land too hard, so it may take some time to successfully achieve a soft landing.
• Its identification code is "HOI MXIOI".
