Description[]
One of the most typical ways to spread propaganda among dictatorships is erecting billboards with pictures of the country's head of state, shown as a man with power.
The message of the billboards is easy to understand. The picture used in all billboards, as seen to the right, shows Pandak "Baby" Panay as the shining star in the Republic of Panau, having the power and the audience (people are seen standing "listening" to him in the background) on his side. The emblem of Panau is seen in all the corners and to the left of the president. The picture can also be seen as posters on several places in Panau and on Propaganda Trailers.
These billboards; the Propaganda Trailers; the Statues; and also the propaganda spread by the Panau Broadcasting Company, are used to give the president influence over his people and to give them the "right" image of him.
All the billboards have got lights above them, so they can be seen at night and during thunderstorms with dark clouds.
The art and layout of the billboards resembles that of currency bills.
Uses[]
There are two uses of these billboards; using them as a shooting targets (most notably at the Reapers HQ), or the most important and popular thing, drawing "extra details" on the president.
Using the Grappling hook to get to the "babyface" on the billboard will give you the ability to activate the billboard. This will make a moustache and glasses appear on the president, like if Rico had drawn them with a black marker. Because of this, they are listed among the Easter Eggs.
Unfortunately the drawing is not permanent and will disappear after getting away from the place. Rico also chuckles sometimes after doing this.
Locations[]
The billboards can be found all over Panau:
- They are freqently found along the public roads in Panau.
- They can be seen on rooftops in Panau City.
- Can be found at some civilian airports.
- The best known billboard is located at the Reapers HQ and is used as a shooting target by the rebel soldiers. It has been drawn on with the same moustache and glasses that Rico can do with the usual ones. Though it is premade and permanent on this one.
Trivia[]
- Salvador Mendoza also has propaganda posters and billboards of of himself in San Esperito. These are not as numerous and only appear in towns and villages and cannot be drawn on.
