The U-7 Dravec is a plane in Just Cause 3.

Appearance[]

It is a two engine attack aircraft with two rocket pods and six bombs attached to its wings.

It is based on a fourth-generation jet fighter. It resembles several real aircraft:

The in-game description reads "Rain fire from the sky with the U-7 Dravec, equipped with both rockets and bombs for carpeting your enemies in chaos."

Performance[]

The Dravec is slightly slower than the CS7 Thunderhawk, but still fast and nimble, with high speed, responsive control surfaces but not very durable.

As a fighting vehicle, the Dravec is equipped with unguided rockets and bombs. The rockets can be fired rapidly with no reload time, whereas the bombs are thrown in small clusters take several seconds to recover and additionally provide a red reticle on the ground to assist aiming. Both weapons are individually weaker than a "standard" explosion in terms of damage, but the Dravec is nevertheless still able to devastate large areas and avoid return fire, leveling exposed enemy settlements in a few strafing runs and wrecking even durable vehicles in one clean hit. Fitting for a ground attacker, taking out aerial foes can be next to impossible, as unlike the CS7 Thunderhawk, it cannot effectively engage them.

Trivia[]

  • The name might be referencing the U2 spy plane, an American plane used to spy on the Soviet Union during the Cold War.
  • Dravec is Czech for predator.
  • It is the second largest aircraft in JC3.
  • This plane is the first aircraft in the Just Cause Game Series to be equipped with bombs, and was a largely suggested feature.
  • Attempting to drop bombs when you are flying upside down will cause the bombs to hit your plane, killing Rico.
  • The jet is equipped with an air brake. See below picture.
  • When one of these takes off from Vulture and Rico is not driving, it will fly in the direction of Boom Island with a few turns on the way. The plane will not stop.
  • From its F-16 stylings, the aircraft has a faring for an M61A1 Vulcan cannon on the left side of the fuselage just behind the cockpit, but this is simply cosmetic.
  • This is the second fastest plane in JC3 with a maximum speed of 328 km/h.
  • The "U" in the name could quite possibly stand for Urga, as it does in many of the company's other products.
  • Strangely, despite having no obvious shortage of this vehicle, this vehicle is only ever seen used by the Medici Military as reinforcements at Porto Tridente.
