The Stinger GP is an armed buggy in Just Cause (1).

Appearance

It looks like and is based on the Desert Patrol Vehicle.

It has a typical dune buggy appearance, featuring two front seats, freelaid wheels and a streamlined body with no windows. It has the capability of carrying an extra third passenger / Mounted Gun operator on the rear platform. If used during a "liberation" sidemission, it's likely that one of the Guerrillas / Riojas will jump on and use the mounted gun.

Performance

It's a fast off-road vehicle and has 4-wheel drive. It's among the best off road vehicle in the game. It's good with Stunt ramps. It's one of the vehicles that can drive at least half way up on top of a civilian vehicle. The main disadvantage is the relatively heavy damage it takes, when landing at a wrong angle. The metal panel at the front, which helps it to slide on to and over obstacles, is usually the first thing to break off.

Versions and locations

The Mounted Gun can only be used by a passenger on the rear platform. This is most often seen during liberations.

Black Hand	Black	Mounted Gun	Appears in every "liberation" side mission after Some Enchanted Evening, when the Black Hand start playing the role of the military, instead of government soldiers. The only exception is military bases. Some appear during the storyline missions Streets of Fire, Dismissed Without Honors, and Taking Out The Garbage Vol. I. On rare occasions, one might replace a San Esperito Military version in a side mission given by the Guerrillas where the occupants have to be killed. Instead of soldiers, they are still Black Hand operatives, who are significantly tougher than usual Black Hand operatives.

Look at your PDA Map and draw a straight line from Guerrilla 17 "Camp Jungle work" safehouse to Guerrilla 19 "Camp Inferno Verde". Then look at the location of the Casa Elsa Cartel Villa (middle of Isla Maria Dolorosa) and draw a line straight east from there. The vehicle is at a small shanty town (tiny unmarked village) near the crossing point of the two lines. The village is at least 50 meters to the south-east from the nearest road and can be spotted from the air, if you're close to it. In a garage at the Villa La Cantera Cartel villa, on the coast in the Isla Maria Dolorosa province.

Trivia

• Strangely, the spotlights mounted next to the machine gun become brighter when the handbrake button is pressed, as if they are brake lights.
• The Weaponized Urga Ogar (JC3) and Weaponized Vagabundo Buggy (JC4) are successors to this vehicle.
• Strangely, the Guerrilla section in the PDA calls this vehicle simply "Stinger buggy."
• It is up to you whether you want to save the Guerrilla variant of this vehicle in a safehouse, but the rank where it spawns is the only time such a variant exists, as before and after this rank, this vehicle never appears.
