The Unnamed military base at X:8260; Y:26740 is an unmarked location in Just Cause 2.
Description[]
The base consists of two concrete platforms, side by side, built into the cliff. It has multiple items of Panau Military hardware, including two SAMs, but oddly no soldiers. Destroying any objects will give you Heat as usual and the SAM sites will attack you if you are flying any aircraft, but if no soldiers get here by any means, the Heat will stay in "Pre-Heat" and shortly decline, if you don't get caught by the military. This would make the Pre-Heat go over in "Main" Heat where they are aware of you and will call in reinforcements. You are unlikely to be spotted however, as it is quite far from the main road. You are more likely to be spotted by a helicopter if you destroy everything in an aircraft very quickly, allowing heat to accumulate and cause a helicopter to spawn.
There's multiple possible purposes for this facility, but since there is no defensive infrastructure, it is only relevant to communications and to the energy industry.
- Kem Jalan Merpati has a Fuel Shaft and this place has 2 Gas Holders, 4 Fuel Depots and some indestructible pipelines. The pipelines could go all the way to the base, right through the mountain. That makes this a gas and fuel storage depot in the middle of the pipeline network.
- To provide additional electrical power to nearby bases with the Wind Turbines.
- The Communications Mast could connect to the nearby bases by a land cable and improve their communications, which would otherwise be obstructed by the mountains.

Trivia[]
- This location does not appear in the Just Cause 2 Demo despite being in the area.
- This is not the only unmarked place that has SAMs. The unnamed mansion in An Officer and a Hitman also has four SAM sites and the U1 also has four.
- Perhaps the developers intended to add a base here and forgot? It's also possible that the Panau Military started constructing a base here and it's just not finished yet.
