Thunder and lightning storms are a type of extreme weather featured in the Just Cause game series.

Description
Most games in the series have some distant storms with thunder and/or lightning. In fact, the first trailer for Just Cause even features thunder from a distant storm.
JC4
Everything changed as of Just Cause 4 where the player can experience extreme weather where turbulence effects aircraft and visibility.
Lightning storms cause darkness, similar to night time and lightning becomes common. Any vehicles hit by lightning are destroyed. Wingsuiting, or parachuting in a lighting storm can injure Rico very badly. The storm can spawn in the rainforest biome but you can lauch the storm on purpose if you liberate Meteolab and Zona dos.
