Appearance
Edit
It's a tuned version of the Sakura Aquila City. It has a body kit, new wheels and a spoiler. It mainly resembles the real life Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX in the front, while the rest is much more loosely based on the Toyota Tercel that all other Sakuras are modelled after.
Performance
Edit
The Metro ST has an all round better performance than the City, particularly handling. It is okay at off road terrain, it may spin around a lot at steeper gradients though. It is not recommended for terrain with low grip like ice and snow as it's guaranteed to spin out of control at even a low speed because of its rear wheel drive configuration. In comparison the other Sakuras which are all front wheel drive are quite good in places with low grip, its low speed doesn't matter that much as you are not likely to drive fast on slippery terrain. Drifting is very easy in this car largely due to its rear wheel drive and handling, arguably the best car to drift in. In the pc version, playing with a keyboard, steering is notably more sensitive than other cars. Turning at high speeds can usually lead to crashing into cars and other things but at low speeds or just cruising around it is easier, if you wish to drive this car fast with the PC version the streets of Panau City provide good, right angled roads that are suited for the Metro.
It does well in pursuits, both chasing people down and escaping from the military. It can take a few violent rams and crashes before the engine starts to weaken and smoke. Oddly it cannot take too much damage from gunfire. Even though it can go through a lot of very harsh bumps and wrecks before it starts to get critically damaged, it is best to ease off the acceleration first or gently apply the brakes. Mashing the brakes at high speeds can make it spin out of control.
The table is from the official strategy guide:
| Top speed points: | 73 |
| Top speed in km/h: | 154.2 |
| Top speed in mil/h: | 95.8 |
| Acceleration: | 65 |
| Armour: | 29 |
| Handling: | 68 |
Locations
Edit
It's very common and can be found almost anywhere, most notably at:
- Panau City.
- On the Panau Motorway/Highway System.
- In the Lautan Lama Desert.
- In traffic everywhere.
Trivia
Edit
- The Metro ST, despite its obvious links to the City, Space and Forte, is different not just in looks, but in overall layout. It is not only rear wheel drive, unlike its more stable front-wheel-drive brethren, but it also seems to have a V8 engine that sounds exactly like the Maddox FVA 45 but probably has a 3.0 V6 or something similar and fairly common for the size.
- It's possible that the Chevalier Ice Breaker borrows a few parts from this vehicle. The rear bumper's diffuser and wheels seem to be lifted from the Metro ST, while the rest of the vehicle is either brand new or, of course, lifted from the original ice cream truck, the Chevalier Piazza IX. But this is odd, because they're made by different companies.
- It's unusual that the Sakura Aquila City has FWD configuration but the Metro ST has RWD configuration, the closest real car is the Rover 75, in general it's FWD, but if equipped with a 4.6 L (281 CID) Ford Modular V8 engine, it is RWD. Odd but true.
