The Submachine Gun is a weapon in Just Cause 2.

AppearanceEdit

It appears to be largely based on the FAMAE SAF.

Some players have reportedly misidentfied it as an "FN-Herstal Uzi", the famous Israeli-made open-bolt, blowback operated sub-machine gun, which looks nothing like the in-game SMG, as the Uzi uses a telescoping bolt design, allowing the magazine to be inserted into the grip, instead of the conventional design on the SMG. Some inexperienced players mistake it as an update of the Nova 9 SMG from Just Cause (1).

PerformanceEdit

The weapon has an extremely high rate of fire and can empty 180 rounds in seconds, therefore it is advisable to upgrade this weapon all the way to the 6th star, which will give it more ammunition, a higher rate of fire, and increased magazine size. The SMG is a widely available weapon. It has the ability to be dual-wielded and used on motorcycles and ATVs. It's drawbacks are poor accuracy and low damage. However, ammunition is plentiful, as grunts carry these at almost all times. Ammuntion is very common after a few stronghold takeovers.

• It's equipped to about a quarter of Panauan soldiers.
• It's provided for a lot of the missions.
• It can be found in boxes, at most military bases.
• It is among the last of the Black Market items to be unlocked, in conjuction with the Machine Gun.
• It can be found at the Reapers HQ.
