It has been suggested and discussed a little by me and User:FloatingZygarde that maybe there should be a full separate wiki for all the fan fiction that people have written into some threads here. Currently we have at least [several] very long forum threads where people are "developing" their fan fiction spin-off/sequel Just Cause games. Consider the following and discuss below.
I think there more, but I can't find them right away. (This is one of the reasons why wikia/fandom wants to replace forums.)
This would allow fiction content, like vehicles, locations, missions to have their own articles.
Articles could be sorted into categories by development project as well as by vehicle/location/mission/...
It has multiple times been announced by wikia/fandom owners that they're planing on closing the "forums" feature to have it replaced by an allegedly better programmed "discussions" feature. This would not delete current forums. All threads would be automatically moved into "discussions", but it's highly doubtable that that feature would be better than a separate Just Cause FF wiki.
That wiki would not compete with this wiki. That means anyone who ends up running that wiki could feel free to link to any articles here with out it seeming like "steeling content". Numerous links to this wiki would also eliminate the need to have duplicate articles for certain subjects and eliminate the possibility of the wikis becoming competitors in the future if more people with different opinions would join there.
As an admin here, I know all about how much time and effort it takes to maintain a wiki and I don't think most of the fiction developers are up to that. Unless they'll post below and claim otherwise.
Depending on the amount of available time, admins from this wiki might be able to help with technical issues, if asked.
It would need more than one admin to minimize risks from reliance on only 1 person.
Not possible to use internal links to articles in this wiki. That just means you'd have to use external links, like the links to wikipedia that we often use here.
Not possible to use pictures from other wikis (including this one), with out having to download them and reuploading them there.
It would definitely get less viewers, but at the same time, it could easily become quite popular, similarly to how our Just Cause 3 Wishlist became quite popular in its time. There's no way to tell in advance.
There's probably more problems than that. Feel free to discuss below.
It's very important to have a name for the wiki that makes it clear what it is. I propose "Just Cause Fan Fiction" that could be shortened as "Just Cause FF" (or "JCFF", or "JC FF") where needed. Mentioning "fan fiction" right in the name would eliminate any sort of confusion and arguments over what the wiki should try to do/be.
I am rollback and long time user with over 1,3500 edits on the galaxy on fire wiki (dying) I could be a good admin candidate, I agree with this idea, the just cause wiki has the most pages I've ever seen
@Pure Competizione It would never get cluttered up. Just use the categories. All fiction projects could be treated as separate games are treated here. Very large articles are difficult and uncomfortable to read as well as edit.
This is a brilliant idea, it'll allow us to organize our fanfiction development so much better without having to worry about the threads. We can have categories for vehicles, flags, locations, et cetera.
I am all for it and I will be on board with developing the new site.
There is one problem however, my knowledge of actual Wikia coding is fairly limited. I don't know how to code and build an infobox for a page, for one thing. I'll see what I can do with the knowledge I have or perhaps I'll try to learn more, but either way I'm going to contribute to this.
Don't worry about it. None of us knew codding at first. In any case wikia has set up samples and such as like automated help pages that come with each new wiki. Try to create a template page and see what happens.

The thing is, discussions are crap for this type of thing, and having a separate wiki for all the FF means we can have articles for all FF vehicles, missions etc. This wiki will be more of a factual and strategy wiki, like it should be. It needs more admins as currently, GMRE is the only admin there.

One thing I'm concerned about regarding this new wiki is how will the word of a new edit spread around the way it does on a thread? On a thread I can make a post announcing the existence of a new vehicle and talk about what it is, how it works, and its armament. If I were to create a page for a new vehicle on the JCFF wiki, how would word get around?
There is a problem I'm having with editing, I'm currently creating the page for Corestar but every time I save the text disappears and I'm only left with a few sentences, GMRE, have you experienced this problem?
I had the same problem. I also saw an error message, saying that it's a wiki server problem and that they're working on it. The same has happend here a few times. They usually get it fixed with in a few hours.

I seem to have fixed it, now I'm done with the main factions I can make pages for weapons.
