  • in the Mech DLC i believe that i have found a new easter egg. In an abandoned hangar, directly north of the goose, is a fallen drone. from a distance it simply blinks its camera light, but if Rico stands in front of it the drone will scan him. very interesting.

    • Dang it me and UNHC actually found that first in the past on a Steam broadcast

Yeah it's a interesting little thing its light flashes continuously but if Rico approaches it scans him or something

Doesn't seem to do anything though

Or at least, nothing happened when me and UNHC tried some things

    • That one has indeed been known for a while. It's listed in the eDEN Station: The Goose article.

This could be a security system implemented on Eden drones. The reason that it might not cause an alert may be because Rico is 'a certified Eden mech operator' meaning that the Eden database thinks that Rico is allowed in that area.

Also I see red lights floating above Eden extraction sites and outposts in the central region of Insula Striate, but when I grapple to them it looks like there is nothing there apart from the red light. Could this be related?

    • That crashed drone is likely just a crashed drone that isn't completely functional anymore. But it could also have something to do with the mysterious button mystery. Thread:29444, Thread:29834.

Those floating red lights are probably only visible from a distance, right? This is because of the Level of detail lights and just minor mistakes by game developers. The lights should disappear once a destructable object is gone, but they just don't.

    • Those floating red lights are just the lights showing on destroyed destructibles

But that drone is still a mystery

I usually see the red lights over outposts and Eden extraction sites, but they float above the ground at the height a SATCOM dishes highest point is, but there aren't any SATCOM dishes in extraction sites or outposts, so im sure that these aren't lights on destructables. Also they don't dissapear when I am close to them as I can grapple on to them (when I do this they slowly fall to the ground).

    • Weird. That's definitely a glitch rather than an easter egg.

    • Huh

These lights must be part of some separate system

...but why put a separate system on excavators
